Monteverde|Chicago 🍝
A highly recommended house-made pasta restaurant! While some dishes are permanent on the menu, others rotate — so each visit can bring new surprises ✨. 🥣 Complimentary cold soup — likely the “mozzarella shooter” listed on the menu. Tangy chilled soup paired with creamy mozzarella — a refreshing start! 🧀 Burrata e Ham A popular appetizer and for good reason — so delicious! The best way to eat it: slice the small Italian flatbread, stuff it with burrata and prosciutto, and add your choice of sauce. The bread is lightly crispy outside, soft inside. Two sauces: a savory prosciutto cream and a sweet-spicy apricot mustard (so unique!). Comes with 4 pieces, but you can order half! 🟢 Gnocchetti con Pesto A classic permanent item. These aren’t typical round gnocchi — more like small shell-shaped pasta that holds the sauce perfectly. Chewy, springy texture with a beautifully balanced pesto and creamy finish. 🐑 Sheep’s Milk Tortelli Filled with rich sheep’s milk cheese, wrapped in spinach pesto, served with soft fava beans and a sprinkle of red chili flakes — intensely flavorful and decadent. A must for cheese lovers, but best shared (3+ people recommended) as it’s very rich! This place is famous for their fresh, house-made pasta, and it’s always packed — so reservations are a must! The vibe is relaxed and chic. We sat toward the back where the lighting was moody and intimate, but the window seats are bright and airy — totally different feel. Definitely a restaurant I’ll revisit next time I’m in Chicago! ✅ #Monteverde #ChicagoEats #ItalianFood #HouseMadePasta #ChicagoFoodie #TravelEats
