Monteverde β Chicago Restaurant Week Visit π
Recommended by a colleague, I visited this Italian spot for my birthday on a weekday lunch. Booked two weeks ahead on OpenTable β not too hard to get a table! We ordered one Restaurant Week menu and one regular menu. The lunch Restaurant Week menu is $30. I skipped the popular Burrata E Ham and tiramisu, but still had a surprisingly delicious meal β the flavors really stand out. Artichoke & Sunchoke Crostino π₯ Crispy bread with artichoke and cheese β small but tasty. ππππ Omaβs Green Mountain Salad π₯ A bit heavy on the vinaigrette β quite tangy. Small portion for the price. ππ Egg Yolk Raviolo π₯π One large ravioli filled with runny egg yolk that blends perfectly with the sauce β rich and decadent. Served with fragrant sautΓ©ed mushrooms and crispy bacon. πππππ Wagyu Beef Skewer π₯© Medium-rare Wagyu β silky inside, charred outside. Sweet-spicy glaze is addictive. Would order 10 sticks if they werenβt $14 each π . πππππ Tortellini in Brodo π² Tiny tortellini in a 72-hour pork broth β clear, rich, yet not heavy. Filled with ham and duck, with napa cabbage for freshness. Perfect for a freezing Chicago day β warms you head to toe. πππππ Chocolate Peppermint Forgotten Cookie πͺ Coconut and dark chocolate meringue β quite sweet. #ItalianFood #HiddenGem #ChicagoRestaurantWeek #Foodie #RestaurantRecommendation
