My Chinese stomach finally found comfort

For the past few days, we’ve been living on hamburgers and pizzas nonstop—after the third day, I was already tired of the greasy, heavy flavors, and my taste buds were practically begging for a change 😩. Just when I was scrolling through ) feeling hopeless, I stumbled upon a post about this spot. What a coincidence! We happened to be passing through this town on our road trip, so I immediately suggested we stop here for a meal—no way I was letting this chance slip! Let me tell you, this place did NOT disappoint! First off, their Korean Kimchi Fried Rice with Beef Bone Soup is an absolute must-try—5 stars all the way ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐! The fried rice is fluffy with just the right amount of kimchi tang, not too spicy but packed with flavor, and the beef bone soup is rich and hearty, with tender chunks of beef and clear, savory broth that warms you up from the inside out. It’s exactly the kind of comforting food my Chinese stomach was craving! Their fried chicken is great too—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and not overly greasy 🐔. The stone pot bibimbap is another winner: the rice at the bottom gets nice and crispy, just like the "guoba" (crispy rice crust) we love in Chinese food—such a pleasant surprise 😋! The owner’s family is of Korean descent; their ancestors immigrated to the US a long time ago, and they’re the sweetest people ever 🥰. When we were checking out, they gave us free iced water without us even asking. Then, noticing how hot it was outside (it was a sunny day with temperatures hitting the high 80s°F), the went out of her way to grab an extra ice cup for me—such a thoughtful little gesture that made me feel so welcome. I wrote a short note to thank her, telling her how her restaurant "saved my stomach" from all the fast food, and she got so touched that she gave me a big hug 🫂. It’s these small, warm moments that make traveling so special! Oh, and the vibe inside is super fun too—there are posters of K-pop boy groups and girl groups on the walls, and the TV was playing a lively girl group MV the whole time we ate. I even caught myself tapping my foot to the beat while eating 😆! If you’re ever in the area, do yourself a favor and visit this gem! Restaurant Name: Crazy BBQ Address: 2651 Oswell St STE E, Bakersfield, CA 93306 (If your GPS takes you a little off, it’s just a 2-minute walk—super easy to find! 🧭) #food#KoreanFood #AmericanRoadTrip #FoodieFind
