Nadu — South Indian Cuisine Certified by Locals!

Seems like I explore a new Indian spot every Restaurant Week — love that air filled with spices and curry aromas ☺️. ⚠️ Warning: If you can’t handle spice, be careful — some dishes here pack heat! Part 1 — For the Table (forgot to snap ) — A small cup of fragrant tomato soup + crispy Indian crackers with two dips (one sweet, one savory). The soup warmed us up against Chicago’s chill. Appetizers: We chose the jackfruit shammi kebab and tiger prawn.😘😊 The jackfruit kebab was soft and crumbly — surprisingly good with leftover dips. The tiger prawn was aromatic, almost reminiscent of Chinese flavors — generous portion, highly recommended. Second half of the menu felt less exciting than the first.💕😁 Mains: chicken masala and beef roast — decent but nothing special; the beef roast was quite salty. Served with basmati rice and naan — paired well with the respective dishes. Dessert was more like a drink than a dessert — forgettable, not a highlight. Overall, a strong start but weaker finish — still, at $45, it was worth trying. (PS: Mandatory 20% tip, but service was solid.) 📍 Nadu 2518 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL 60614 #ChicagoRestaurantWeek #LifeInTheUS #Foodie #GoogleStarsChallenge #SouthIndianFood
