New Orleans Brunch 🥣 | Bearcat – The Famous Spot in NOLA
When You Search for New Orleans Food Guides, 70% of Posts Mention This Brunch Spot🍛🍛 It seems pretty popular among Chinese tourists. There are two main recommended dishes: crab scramble (scrambled eggs with crab meat 🦀) and lobster daddy (fried lobster 🦞).🦐 I didn’t go to the main brunch restaurant because I heard the lines are huge—instead, I visited the adjacent bakery, so I didn’t get to try the lobster. 🍴 Bearcat Baked 📍 Address: 726 Julia St, New Orleans, LA 70130 【Bearclaw】 It’s a bear paw-shaped croissant filled with a moderate amount of almond paste.🍊 The croissant 🥐 itself is super crispy and light as air—so even though it looks big, it doesn’t feel heavy to eat. 🍟🍟 The almond paste inside is creamy and not sweet, but it has a strong artificial almond flavor [laugh emoji][laugh emoji]. If you like almond flavor, you can give it a try; it’s lighter and less sweet than regular almond croissants.🌋🌋 【Crab Scramble】 First, I have to admit—the portion of crab meat is really generous, with chunks in every bite. But the flavor was a bit disappointing. Besides crab 🦀 and eggs, there didn’t seem to be any other seasonings. 🏟️ The potato chunks on the side actually tasted good—slightly spicy and flavorful—but they were way too dry and burnt . Not sure if that’s how it’s supposed to be, or if the bakery’s quality is inconsistent.🌊 🌈Overall, for this bakery at least, it’s safer to just order bread or sandwiches. If the main restaurant tastes like this, I don’t think it’s worth waiting in line just to check it out. #NewOrleans #NewOrleansFood #NOLA #Brunch #NewOrleansRestaurants #Food #NewOrleansTravel #NewOrleansFoodExploration #NewOrleansDailyLife #NewOrleansBrunch
