New Spot in Chicago Suburbs | Made-to-Order Dishes Are Just Better! 😋

As everyone knows, Chicago’s north suburbs are a real Chinese food desert. Recently, an aunt recommended this new place that just opened six months ago — tried it and left very satisfied! 🍖 Spicy Braised Pork Trotters A generous plate served crispy outside, tender inside — soft and sticky. Compared to the Korean-style jokbal from Jokbal Night Market, the seasoning here is richer, with scallion and chili aromas blending perfectly. Every bite is packed with collagen goodness. 🐟 Sweet & Sour Crispy Fish My personal favorite! The fish is fresh, the batter is crisp yet soft — you can tell it’s made fresh. The sweet-and-sour sauce is perfectly balanced — so appetizing! 🐟 Salt & Pepper Fish Clearly made to order — the coating is extra crunchy, harder than tempura but super satisfying. I prefer lighter flavors lately, but my partner who loves fried chicken couldn’t stop eating it! Loaded with fried garlic, scallions, and chili bits for extra aroma. Fun fact: the leftovers tasted even better the next day when the crust softened. 🔥 Stir-Fried Pork Kidney I’ve been wanting to try this but it’s always sold out by 8 PM — not late-dinner friendly 😭 Every time I see it on another table, it smells amazing! Once, an older couple dining next to us kept eyeing our fish and asked about it — I almost suggested swapping some dishes since neither of us had started eating yet 😂 They said the kidney here is cleaned very well and wok-fried to fragrant perfection. Note to self: “Eat dinner earlier” is now on my New Year’s resolutions list. 🍽️ Regulars’ insight: That older couple mentioned the chef moved here six months ago, and their group of regulars followed. Most customers here are Chinese families — when experienced home cooks with high standards bring their whole family, you know it’s legit. My go-to when I don’t want to cook — hoping they keep the quality consistent! 🏮 Restaurant: North Star #ChicagoEats #ChicagoFood #ChineseFood #SuburbsEats #ChicagoLife #FoodieFinds
