Next Restaurant in Chicago — A Memorable & Corn-Focused Meal 🌽
The restaurant’s name is Next, located on W Fulton Street — an area famous for its dining scene. It popped up in my memories recently thanks to a phone photo album reminder — those masked days left quite an impression. Next is known for its seasonal tasting menus, and when we visited, the theme was Mexican cuisine.👍😊 Presentation was beautiful (see photos!), though dining was under special conditions: spaced-out seating, fewer guests, excellent service. Our server mentioned the menu was the result of six months (maybe less?) of R&D — they change themes quite frequently. Now, my honest take: This particular menu interpreted Mexican food very literally as corn 🌽 — by the end, I was practically feeling “corn heartburn.” That said, Next has hovered around Michelin-star level for years — it’s definitely a culinary experience. Chicago summer nights really are something special 💫. The next day, we had brunch right next to Next — also a well-known spot, though I don’t remember the food being extraordinary. What I do remember: sitting outdoors, tables full, no distancing in sight. #ChicagoEats #NextChicago #TastingMenu #MexicanTheme #MichelinDining #ChicagoFoodScene
