🏨 Nice Room, But Far from Perfect – Especially Near the Elevator! 🛗

The Omni Hotel in the Gold Coast is an upscale property right off Michigan Avenue — great location, no doubt! 🗺️💫 All rooms are suites, which adds to the comfort and convenience. The bathroom was stylish and offered easy access to both the sitting area and bedroom 🛁🚪. The desk in the lounge was well-placed, and the blackout curtains really did their job 🌙🖼️. Wi-Fi signal was strong 💻📶, but the outlet near the bedside table in my room was broken — and despite mentioning it, it never got fixed 🔌❌. The bathroom had plenty of counter space, but the shower water pressure was just okay 💦😐. For an upscale hotel, the in-room amenities felt pretty limited — think basic cups, a standard coffee maker, that’s about it ☕🧴. You’ll hear some street noise now and then, but soundproofing between rooms and windows was decent 🚗🔇. The real issue? Elevator noise — it was loud and distracting, especially if your room is close by. Front desk responsiveness really depended on who was on shift — some were super helpful, others less so 😐📞. Housekeeping quality also varied day to day 🧹🔄. The on-site restaurant felt underwhelming — nothing inviting or special about it 🍽️🙁. And parking? Super expensive, even by Chicago standards 🅿️💸. 🚗 Heads-up for drivers: Google Maps may lead you to the wrong spot even with the correct address — double-check your route! All in all, it’s a decent stay especially if you want to be near the Water Tower and don’t have a car.
