🌲 North of Atlanta | German-Themed Town Helen & Surrounding Day Trip

Experience a little slice of Germany 🇩🇪 in the US, then grab Mexican food 🇲🇽—what a vibe! 1️⃣ Town of Helen 📍 Helen Welcome Center 726 Brucken Strasse, Helen, GA 30545 Stop by the welcome center first to pick up a map. Since it was crowded and hot at noon, we decided to explore a forest trail by the river first and returned to Helen later in the afternoon. For detailed guides about Helen, check out other posts—I’ll focus on planning a trip around the area! 2️⃣ Cool River Tubing & Adventures - Headwaters Outpost & Cafe 📍 112 Poplar Stump Rd, Helen, GA 30545 Just 3 minutes from Helen, this adventure center offers tubing, rock climbing, zip-lining, and obstacle courses. Open 10 AM–5 PM—plan accordingly! (More pics & info in a separate post.) 3️⃣ Raven Cliffs Trailhead 📍 3000 Richard B Russell Scenic Hwy, Cleveland, GA 30528 About 10 minutes from Helen. Perfect for a weekend hike with mountains and streams! (Check my other post for details.) 4️⃣ Anna Ruby Falls 📍 Anna Ruby Falls Rd, Sautee Nacoochee, GA 30571 Roughly 15 minutes from Helen. Great for hiking, camping, BBQ, and fishing. There’s also a beach area where kids can build sandcastles and swim. People also enjoy paddleboarding and fishing on the lake. ⚠️ Note: The waterfall area closes at 4 PM on Saturdays, but the beach remains accessible. 5️⃣ Mountain Fresh Creamery 📍 6615 Cleveland Hwy, Clermont, GA 30527 About 25 minutes from Helen. This dairy farm was on our way back, so we stopped for some delicious fresh milk ice cream—creamy and totally worth it! (More in a separate post.)
