Oklahoma | Cupbop: Korean Fast Food to Fuel Your Road Trip 🍱

I just wrapped up my 4th long-distance road trip—such an epic adventure! Now I’m finally sitting down to sort through all the memories, starting with the first stop on my journey: Norman, Oklahoma, right after leaving Dallas. After hours of driving, all I wanted was a quick, tasty bite—and Cupbop, a Korean BBQ fast-food spot on the “snack street” near the university, turned out to be the perfect pick! 📍 How to Order & Customize Ordering here is super easy—you can go old-school and order at the window, or use the self-service kiosk if you prefer to take your time. One of my favorite parts? You get to choose how your sauce is served: either mixed right into the rice for maximum flavor, or packed in a small container on the side (great if you want to control how saucy your meal gets!). No fussy steps, just quick, convenient customization—ideal for a road trip pit stop! 🍛 The Star: Classic Combo Bop I went for the Classic Combo Bop, and it hit the spot for a hearty, satisfying meal. The combo comes with 2 types of meat, 2 veggies, rice, and glass noodles—all piled high in a sturdy bowl that’s easy to eat on the go (or at one of the small tables inside). The flavors were solid: the meat was well-seasoned with that signature Korean BBQ sweetness, the veggies stayed crisp, and the noodles added a nice chewy texture. It’s not fancy, but it’s exactly what you want from fast food—filling, flavorful, and comforting. 🥟 The Surprise Win: Fried Dumplings But let’s talk about the fried dumplings—they were a total standout! Golden, crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside, with a savory filling that tasted homemade. I almost didn’t order them, but I’m so glad I did—they’re easily the best part of the meal. Pro tip: Don’t skip these! ⚠️ The Only Downside: So Hot Inside There’s one thing you need to know before visiting: It was sweltering inside the shop! I’m not sure if the AC was broken that day or if they just don’t have it, but within 5 minutes of sitting down, I was sweating through my shirt 😅. If you go, maybe plan to grab your food to go (or eat super fast!)—unless you’re a fan of dining in a sauna. 🅿️ Parking & Post-Meal Fun Parking is a breeze: there’s street parking right nearby, and it’s only $1 per hour—super affordable for a quick stop. After eating, I wandered over to the University of Oklahoma campus, which is just a short walk away. It’s a pretty area with green lawns and classic college buildings—perfect for stretching your legs after a long drive and working off that dumpling-induced food coma! 📌 Shop Details Address: 757 Asp Ave, Norman, OK 73069, United States Hours: 10:30 AM – 9:00 PM (closed on Sundays) P.S. I attached a photo of the bill and part of the menu at the end—check it out if you want to plan your order ahead! All in all, Cupbop was a great first stop on my road trip. It’s quick, tasty, and budget-friendly—plus, the fried dumplings alone make it worth a visit. Just remember to dress light (or get takeout!) if the AC is MIA. #KoreanBibimbap #FastFood #QuickBites #RoadTripBits #UniversityOfOklahoma #Cupbop #OklahomaState #TravelDiary #RoadTripAdventures #EatingDiary
