Oklahoma | Glimpses of Downtown 📷

The capital of Oklahoma isn’t as bustling as you might imagine ✨ — instead, it feels humble and approachable 🍃 🛴 Electric scooters are definitely the best way to explore the city! Highly recommend trying one if you can. The cute streetcar 🚋 and a quick stop at the Paycom Center 🏀 — home of the Thunder — made for a nice visit. Too bad the team store was closed since there was no game that day. Scissortail Park wasn’t as stunning as I expected, but the vast green lawn was impressive 🌿. If it weren’t so hot, I would’ve loved to just lie down and relax there. By the lake, where translucent flowers bloomed subtly 💮, duck families waddled together 🦆. The area wasn’t the cleanest, and honestly — I wouldn’t recommend sitting on the wooden benches in summer. Too many bugs 🦟 (go away, mosquitoes!) But the real surprise was Union Station 🚉 — an unplanned gem! This former train station operated from 1931 to 1967 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. Today, it serves as the main office of the state’s transportation authority. Peeking through its grand doors, my partner and I were both reminded of the Jinghan Railway Station we visited in Wuhan 🚊. That one, though — now that had even more charm and a deeper sense of history. #Oklahoma #TravelDiary #DowntownVibes #CityWalk #HiddenGems
