Patan | The King of Leisurely Nepalese Seclusion
š Mantra Thakali Restaurant Located in the central part of Nepal, Patan is a historically rich and culturally profound ancient city. š« Free from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu's Thamel and the disturbances of the mundane world, Patan is hailed as the "Cultural Heart of Nepal." It preserves many ancient buildings, temples, and palaces in their original state. My fondness for this place also stems from its relative tranquility, except during peak traffic hours. At other times, it's almost leisurely. I indeed prefer Patan over Kathmandu and Bhaktapur. šļø The residential buildings in Patan are distinctive as well. The houses here are mostly red-brick structures with bright colors, finely carved doors and windows, filled with an artistic atmosphere. Strolling through the narrow alleys feels like walking into a world full of stories. There's an indescribable, wonderful feeling that Thamel cannot provide if you seek peace. But Patan can. The pace of life here is leisurely, and the residents are warm and hospitable, making one feel at home. ā Exploring Patan is not just about visiting the Durbar Square; every alley has countless small shops. Bars, restaurants, handicrafts, and cafes are scattered throughout. It's recommended that those who are not on a tight schedule spend at least one day here. šļø Shopping here is also much more budget-friendly than in Thamel, with prices almost 40% cheaper. Please feel free to bargain boldly. #trip diary#travelguide#Nepal trip#Nepal #ExpatLife #NepalHiking #NepalTravel #NepalTravelGuide #PatanDurbarSquare#Lalitpur
