I’m just disappointed and i feel very sorry for the restaurant itself. I’ve been their customer for years now but the service is just plain rude and disrespectful every time i visit! If the restaurant itself doesn’t care about this then no big deal, I’ll stop dining there but why are you so careless about the staffs? I’ve been so many bigger thakali joints but mantra was just outrageous in terms of attitude! I love their mutton thali especially mutton curry but what is it with the attitude and carelessness of staffs? I just came back from mantra and lemme tell you the worst parts: I always have to wait for menu and water and it looks like nobody cares if I’m at the restaurant or not! I ALWAYS have to wait a long long time for waiters to acknowledge my presence! And even when they do, they act like I’m in debt or something. They are not humble and respectful! I am always very positive about waiters but they donot speak properly and serve as if they are mad about me dining there! I loved the mutton curry, I always have but I found the apples in the curd rotton! I felt like I’ll get food poisoning if I ate that. Everytime I go there, i felt uncomfortable and unwelcomed by the waiters, especially female waiters. I always ask for extra gravy but today they crossed the limit of my patience. Radhika tamang … i think this was the name of the waiter! She was so rude from the very beginning. She didn’t gave me disrespectful words but the way she was serving me, i felt like I’m better off eating at home. When i am giving almost 1k for a thali, i at least expect a good customer service! She gave me a spoon of gravy which tasted like they added water in the mutton gravy and served it and my boyfriend had to stand up between the meal to call her and ask for the additional food. I’ve went to jimbu, tukuche, local thakali and every other high end thakali restaurant there is in kathmandu but mantra thakali doesn’t do justice to the amazing food potential they have.
