A coiled cobra sits atop the king's head, with a small copper bird on the snake's head. 🌿Taleju Bell Directly south of the palace at Patan's Durbar Square is a huge ancient bell. In 1736, the king hung the bell here, and those who felt wronged could ring the bell to request the king to right their grievances. ✨Golden Gate of the Palace Built in 1734, the Golden Gate is the entrance to the northern courtyard of the palace. Above this intricately carved gilded door, there is a window framed in gold leaf. The king once accepted the worship of his subjects here. Today, the Golden Gate serves as the entrance to the Patan Museum and the ticket office for Patan. 🎨Patan Museum Once the sleeping quarters of the Malla kings, it is now a leading museum of religious art in Asia. The Patan Museum is a national treasure of Nepal, offering a deeper understanding of the art and architecture of the Kathmandu Valley.
