Pizza for Breakfast β€” The Most Chicago Way to Start the Day πŸ•

I mentioned Paulie Gee’s briefly in a Too Good To Go post before, but it’s long been a favorite β€” especially their Logan Zaddy pizza (sweet + salty perfection). Though it’s a national chain, Chicago got its first location in Logan Square, specializing in thick, square Detroit-style pizza. Later, a Wicker Park spot opened near the Blue Line, serving giant New York-style slices for commuters. Recently, the Logan Square branch started weekend brunch service β€” so of course, I had to see how pizza transforms into breakfast. 🍳 Gravy Pizza – Scrambled eggs, sausage, and gravy on a cheesy Detroit-style crust with mozzarella and cheddar. Sounds like a classic American breakfast β€” works surprisingly well as pizza! The crust is thinner than classic deep-dish but has that crispy, cheesy edge. πŸ– Carnivore Pizza – Loaded with pepperoni cups, crispy and savory. Detroit-style crust is chewier than New York-style, but every bite is packed with flavor. They also serve regular breakfast sandwiches, but the breakfast pizzas are the stars. Perfect for a weekend carb overload (nap afterward recommended 😴). The Logan Square location is vegan-friendly β€” even desserts have plant-based options. Industrial-chic decor, and on the way to the restroom you’ll spot playful pizza-themed art The owner here is also Asian β€” great to support! πŸ“ Paulie Gee’s Logan Square 2451 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60647 #PaulieGees #DetroitStylePizza #ChicagoBrunch #BreakfastPizza #LoganSquareEats
