Places in Kathmandu I've Visited and Really Liked
Attractions: 🩵Pashupatinath Temple (Cremation Ghat) My personal favorite spot. It's incredibly culturally impactful. The atmosphere is different during the day and at night. Entry is free after 7 PM, and the night rituals start at the same time. If you want a seat close to the viewing platform, you must arrive early! Hiring a local guide for around 100 RMB (I'm not good at bargaining) can provide you with a lot of historical insights in English. 🩵Patan Durbar Square Among the three Durbar Squares in Kathmandu, I found Patan to be the most interesting. The surrounding alleys are worth exploring. It's also recommended to hire a local guide to share the history with you. If you're lucky, you might catch a glimpse of the Kumari. Restaurant Recommendations: ✨The Garden (Western Cuisine) This is the best Western meal I had during my ten days in Nepal. The prices are cheaper than those in the commercial areas, and the surrounding area is full of restaurants, so you can explore further. ✨Karma Coffee After dining at The Garden, I crossed the street to Karma Coffee Shop, which has many branches, but the one I visited wasn't crowded. The seats are on the porch, and everyone was quietly studying or working, which was quite interesting. You can also buy some small handicrafts there. ✨Newa Ghasa (Nepali Restaurant) A local favorite I visited is called Newa Ghasa. Just search on Google Maps, and you'll find it. If you want to try traditional Nepalese cuisine, this is a good place to go. There are plenty of options, and I also ordered a Nepalese pizza. #Kathmandu #Nepal #TravelGuide #NepalTravelGuide#Karma Coffee#The Garden #Lalitpur#Patan Darbar Square#Pashupatinath Temple #Kathmandu
