Playful & Whimsical Dining — Big Kids’ Kids Table 🚀

Big Kids is a sandwich shop opened in Logan Square by former Blackbird chef Ryan. After running a fast‑casual spot for a while, Ryan got the itch to return to fine dining — and that’s how the wonderfully quirky Kids Table was born! Kids Table is set inside Big Kids, and the whole vibe is fun, unexpected, and full of personality. The chef even enters to Chicago Bulls’ intro music paired with a spinning disco ball — you can’t help but laugh and smile! ✨🎶 🫒 Caviar with Radish A clean, crisp start. 🦪 Oyster with Chive Butter Rich and briny, served with a playful soundtrack — yes, he pairs dishes with songs, and this one came with SpongeBob music! 🧽 🍞 Chicken Liver Toast The chef explained he uses pasture‑raised chicken liver from a farm that feeds its birds leftovers from a two‑Michelin‑starred restaurant. (He avoids foie gras due to ethical concerns.) 🐟 Salmon with “Alien Brain Sauce” The restaurant has an outer‑space theme, and this tangy‑sweet glaze was literally called “alien brain juice.” 👽 🥟 Ricotta Dumplings Insisted by the chef: “These are dumplings, not gnocchi!” Topped with a bruléed crust and shaved truffle — mind‑bendingly good. 🐖 Dutch Pork with Anchovy A surprisingly harmonious salty‑savory combo. 🍎 Oatmeal‑Style Dessert Tasted just like Quaker’s apple‑cinnamon oatmeal — cozy, nostalgic, and delicious. There were even more courses, each with its own curated soundtrack. 🎵 At the end, the chef handed out printed menus and told us we could do whatever we wanted with them — my silly husband set his on fire, and the whole kitchen crew laughed and took photos. So cool and laid‑back! 😄🔥 Knowing fine dining often leaves you hungry, the chef thoughtfully prepared a take‑home sandwich called the “Space Torpedo” for each guest. 🥪🚀 And finally — he invited everyone outside to “smoke” apples (yes, apples!). Truly a night of wonderfully weird experiences. Big Kids: 2545 N Kedzie Blvd, Chicago, IL 60647 #ChicagoLife #Chicago #ChicagoEats #ChicagoFoodScene #SecretSupper #PlayfulDining
