Plog: Chicago Staycation with Kids — What to Do and What to Avoid
Taking a relaxed trip to Chicago with kids? Here are some recommendations and things to avoid: 🩵 Recommended: Children’s Museum The Children’s Museum is a must-visit! Kids love it, and it’s a one-stop shop for eating, drinking, playing, and shopping. You can easily combine it with other famous spots like Navy Pier, deep-dish pizza, and the iconic popcorn. It’s perfect for families with kids who can’t walk long distances. We even got an annual membership for $225, which allows free entry to five or six children’s museums and half-price access to over a hundred others. I’ll definitely renew it next year. The museum offers various role-playing experiences, like being a doctor or nurse taking care of a baby, a restaurant server, a supermarket cashier, or a veterinarian. My daughter loves taking care of the little babies. There’s also a special exhibit on Van Gogh’s paintings with an interactive experience area that’s exciting even for adults. The design is very thoughtful. 🩵 Recommended: Hyatt Regency We stayed at the Hyatt Regency, which is perfectly located between Millennium Park and the Magnificent Mile, with a beautiful river view. It’s convenient for getting around, and the hotel is spacious enough for kids to run around safely. 🩵 Not Recommended: I wouldn’t recommend bringing kids under three years old to Chicago. It’s really tough to get around, especially if they refuse to sit in a stroller. 😂😂😂 Parents, take my advice! #TravelWithoutKids #FreeFamilyFun
