Proxi — Non-Typical Fusion for Chicago Restaurant Week 🌍🍽️
Haven’t been to Proxi in a while — a friend noticed their $59 four-course Restaurant Week menu and booked us a table. 🥗 First Course Root vegetable salad or Indian samosa. The samosa wasn’t overly curry-heavy — tangy tamarind chutney shone through, balanced by creamy labneh. ➕ $10 Upgrade: Steamed bread + foie gras mousse. The bread was bouncy like Chinese fa gao, the foie gras smooth with chili and pine nuts — rich and flavorful. 🍲 Second Course Clam soup in red curry (Thai-inspired with sausage bits) or charcoal-grilled Japanese sweet potato. ➕ $5 Upgrade: Grilled cod — decent but not Yume-level; skin was slightly bitter from charring. Compared to many Restaurant Week menus, Proxi offers more choices and real portions — you’ll leave full. It’s also one of Chicago’s better-executed fusion spots — worth a visit. 📍 Proxi 565 W Randolph St, Chicago, IL 60661 #ProxiChicago #RestaurantWeek #ChicagoFusion #WestLoopEats #FourCourseMeal
