🍣 RED Sushi – Madison Review 🍱

Went to RED with mid expectations… left deeply disappointed 😔. Here’s the breakdown: Their sushi is just… average. Nothing special. The "Special" they kept pushing was a major red flag 🚩 – pretty sure it was leftover fish mashed into a gross, fishy paste. Super (fishy) and unpleasant. Felt like they were trying to upsell what they couldn’t sell otherwise. And they wouldn’t stop recommending it to every table 😅. The RED Salad came highly recommended… but it was basically just chunks of fatty bacon 🥓🤮. Not what I was hoping for in a "Japanese" restaurant. Maybe I ordered the wrong things, but overall – not worth the price or the hype. Madison Japanese food continues to disappoint me 😭. I miss the authentic, delicate, and fresh sushi from Shanghai so much… If you’ve had better experiences here or somewhere else in Madison – let me know!
