Revisiting the Trendy Bakery — Milli by Metric 🥐✨
Also wrote about this place before, but back then it had just opened and felt a bit less impressive compared to the pastries from Obélix, where the owner previously worked. Went again at the end of December and found some real surprises this time! 🍞 The summer peach cream bread has been replaced with persimmon cream bread—fragrant bread outside, rich cream and persimmon jam inside. The layers are distinct, so each bite depth gives you a different flavor experience. 🍞 Still obsessed with the sweet-salty buckwheat cookie—bought another one, so earthy and delicious 🌰 🍞 Tried a paradise bun—tasted just like pastries I had in Denmark! Flaky and crisp with a standout nutmeg aroma. 🍞 The éclair flavor changed too—now pawpaw caramel, though the pawpaw flavor is subtle and it’s mostly caramel. But the éclair texture is much better than Kasama’s. Since winter fruits are limited, the éclair is now passionfruit flavor—still want to try it next time. They also have creative items like the black sesame sweet potato éclair —feels very Asian-inspired. Definitely coming back to try more! 📍 Milli by Metric 3110 N Kedzie Ave, Chicago, IL 60618 #FoodieCat #ChicagoLife #ChicagoFoodie #ChicagoEats #BakeryLove #GlobalFoodReview
