Rome’s Places of Serenity (A Short Travelogue)

🏛️ Palazzo Altemps ✅A tangible embodiment of "quiet greatness." Elegant yet far from plain, its understated beauty speaks through carefully curated emptiness, where history flows in every blank space. 📌Built by a count and later acquired by the Pope, it now houses an exquisite collection of Greek, Roman, and Egyptian artworks. 🏛️ Tivoli: After a long journey to the town of Tivoli, the moment I laid eyes on Hadrian’s Villa (Villa Adriana), I knew it was all worth it. ⛪️Amidst the massive ruins, an event was being set up that day, with ancient-style music echoing through the old theater—an atmosphere both profound and dreamlike. In contrast, Villa d’Este feels much more lively. This garden was built by a discontented cardinal who failed to become Pope, yet achieved immortality through his creation. 🏛️ Baths of Caracalla: Stepping into the ruins of the baths feels like entering a giant’s realm. 📘The complex is as vast as a palace and as tall as a cathedral, adorned with marble floors and mosaic murals, divided into numerous sections with astonishing variety. #Italy #Rome #ArchitectureAndArt
