Rome Dining Record | Deroma 📍

Super close to the Trevi Fountain, this place has a decent reputation and is located near a popular tourist spot, so it's recommended to make a reservation to avoid a long wait. 🍲 Dishes: The appetizer, beef tartare, was superb, with a noticeable truffle flavor. The beef pieces were quite large and of excellent quality, not finely ground meat. Many of their dishes are generously garnished with slices of truffle, making it feel like great value. The spiral pasta was quite good, served with burrata cheese, roasted potato puree, raw beef, and black truffle. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, so I recommend this dish. The soup was a bit of a letdown, having added alice anchovies, which made it very salty. I don't think the menu mentioned anchovies, and generally, we wouldn't order dishes with anchovy ingredients. The main body of the soup was an onion and potato soup with pan-fried pleurotus eryngii mushrooms. The rich flavors were unfortunately overshadowed by the saltiness. We had a lamb chop that was slow-cooked at low temperature and then pan-fried, which was very tender. It came with a lamb rib chop and a T-bone butterfly chop, also generously served with slices of black truffle. For dessert, there were many innovative options. We ordered tiramisu for convenience in placing a candle. It wasn't made in the traditional way, without ladyfingers, and resembled the French method, using a cake base with a strong coffee flavor. The cheese cream part was also prepared in the French style, with whipped egg yolks. When I asked the staff if they had a small candle for my birthday, they attentively confirmed the color of the candle, and then several staff members sang "Happy Birthday" and served it to me. It's always been me wishing others a happy birthday in restaurants, and today it was finally my turn, haha. Price: Each dish costs around 20-30 euros, and without wine, the average cost per person is over 50 euros. They also have pizzas and aperitifs, so if you want a simpler meal or just a drink, it should be a good choice and cheaper. #Rome #RomanFood #RomeRestaurants #TreviFountain #ItalianLife #ItalianCuisine #RomeExploring #Italy
