I found this resturant by chance. There are 2 locations steps apart. The first morning I walked in and was greeted by a fantastic gentleman name Jean Micheal. He was so attentive and made me feel welcome. There were not many other guests at that moment and we were able to converse. He was kind enough to explain what the dishes came with and took my order quickly. The breakfast was spectacular. Scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and avocado on the side. Also blueberry juice as well as my Murretti IPA. Hey I'm on vacation. 😄. It came with yogurt and berries and nuts on the side as well. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect experience. However after spending 4 days in Florence I decided to return here for breakfast again. Jean Michael wasn't working until that evening the pretty hostess explained. She remembered that I had gone to Florence and was very sweet inquiring about my trip. The waitress was totally a mess. She took about 8 to 10 minutes to even acknowledge that I was sitting there even though she passed by me numerous times. Finally I asked for a beer and said I was ready to order. She took another 5 minutes to bring the beer and then seemed puzzled that I already knew what I wanted. I asked for blueberry juice and sparkling water and she returned with regular water and orange juice. I pointed out the mistake and she asked again if I didn't want coffee. I jokingly said no it won't mix well with the beer. She finally brought out the correct juice but never returned with the correct type of water. After my food finally came i never saw her again until it was time to pay. I then noticed she had plopped down a espresso coffee that was ice cold by then. This is after I already told her no coffee. I had to ask the hostess to please bring me salt and pepper for my meal. It's a shame that the same restaurant can offer totally different experiences. This was not a budget breakfast. 35 euros. The money was well worth the price the 1st time. Not at all the 2nd. Hopefully they will retrain the waitress and not let her be a reason for others to not return again. It's a beautiful place and deserves staff...
Read moreWe were here twice, once in 2023 and now in 2024. Shout out to Giuseppe, an amazing server that guided us through courses and recommended the best dishes for us to try. Better give that guy a raise. 👋 The second time we came to this place we were almost sent away because there was still about half an hour until the restaurant opens. Giuseppe came through and offered us some cocktails until the kitchen is ready to serve.
Cocktails are delicious and made with impeccable taste. Every dish we had was incredible and I remember both times vividly. Lamb chops were medium rare perfectly paired with black truffles. I was wondering about a side dish and they had a signature spaghetti with a white truffle sauce. Lobster was cooked just right and came with a slightly spicy chimichurri. Meatballs are finished in a tangy tomato sauce. Now, what takes good service to incredible service is noticing we are done with the meatballs, but there is a lot of sauce left. He then brings us some fresh bread to dip while we wait for the next course. Pasta is cooked to perfection, with flavourful sauces and delicious guanciale. Carbonara, amatriciana and amatriciana burnt in a pan are the dishes we went with. Tiramisu is a bit modern, but surprisingly good. We finished off the meal with a limoncello, courtesy of Giuseppe and a cappuccino. It is traditional Roman cuisine that meets modern staples, combines and elevates the experience into a perfect meal. We had a lot of traditional food in a lot of good Roman restaurants, but what Deroma does well is keep to its roots and core while improving on the elements that can be improved. 10/10 would recommend...
Read moreWe stopped by Deroma Farine, and I have to say—it’s an easy 5 out of 5 from me. While the pizza wasn’t the best I’ve had in Rome, everything else like the interior design and overall ambiance more than made up for the 5-star experience.
The coffee was solid, smooth and well-prepared, and the iced tea was surprisingly refreshing—just what we needed on a warm day. But what really stood out was the space which feels very elegant, with high ceilings, wood, gold accents, mirrors plated with red and green fabric, walls, marble, that make it one of the most stylish places I’ve visited in Rome. There’s a clear attention to detail—sleek countertops, well-curated neon lighting, and thoughtful décor that doesn’t try too hard.
Whether you’re grabbing a quick coffee to-go or sitting down for a longer break, it gives off a refined but relaxed vibe that’s hard to come by in busy Rome. It feels more like a lifestyle café-bakery than a typical pizza spot. Whether you’re seated indoors or outside, it’s the kind of place you actually want to relax and spend time in.
And the price? Honestly, I was surprised. For a spot this polished, the value was excellent—great atmosphere, good drinks, and fair prices. The quality of the pizza I had which was from the shelf was forgivable, and I’d still look forward to try them again with a more well planned dining experience. I’d recommend them to family and friends for a visit for sure! And I think if you’re reading this you should also go and check this place out. Also, I love the chill house music…. It’s really one of those cool places that you...
