Rose Mary โ Chefโs Counter with Top Chef Winner Joe Flamm ๐ฝ๏ธ๐
Rose Mary in Fulton Market recently launched a chefโs counter experience โ a tasting menu prepared by chef-owner Joe Flamm (former Spiaggia chef and Top Chef Season 15 winner). My husband and I booked it right away. Throughout the meal, Joe shared stories behind each dish and even photobombed a few of my food shots (I didnโt mind at all ๐). ๐ Sourdough with garlic olive oil, roasted peaches, and fried zucchini โ the fried zucchini is so popular they go through 300 lbs a week! ๐ Hamachi crudo with basil-tomato agua chili โ light, tangy, almost like an Italian gazpacho. ๐ฅฌ Roasted Brussels sprouts with burrata and prosciutto โ even my Brussels-skeptic husband loved this. Sweet, savory, and creamy. ๐ Tortelli di Mantova โ squash and brown sugar-filled pasta pillows that melt in your mouth. ๐ Pork belly risotto with Southern BBQ-inspired spices โ rich but not heavy, with a sweet-heat finish. ๐ Roasted turbot with celery and roasted grapes โ bright, fresh, and balanced after the richer risotto. ๐ฅฉ Australian Wagyu with grilled lettuce โ perfectly cooked and beautifully simple. ๐ Croatian apple strudel with apple cider vinegar gelato and caramel โ the gelato was tart and refreshing, but the caramel made it overly sweet for me. Overall, highly recommended โ an engaging and flavorful experience. Note: They only offer wine pairings (non-alcoholic drinks ร la carte vary in quality).
