Route 66 Road Trip Day 15 | 6 Destinations in Oklahoma šŸš—āœØ

Before I knew it, day 15 of the Route 66 road trip had arrived. Today, I checked off 6 stops in Oklahoma in one go—from a small museum full of warmth to a viral landmark. Each stop held a unique surprise. Come follow my journey and take a look! šŸ“ Stop 1: Bristow Train Depot and Museum I was touched by the overwhelming kindness right at the first stop! The museum was originally closed for renovations, but when the staff heard I’d traveled all the way to visit, they immediately opened the door and took me inside 🄰. The grandma who greeted me was so gentle; she not only explained the history of trains behind each exhibit in detail—like the stories of old signal lights and vintage tickets—but also gave me a replica of an old train ticket and a peanut as a gift in the end. It turns out there’s a fun little fact hidden here! šŸ’” Fun fact: Local law actually requires businesses to give every visitor a peanut! This little "ritualistic" rule instantly made the town even more endearingļ½ž šŸ“ Stop 2: Chandler VC (Route 66 Museum in Chandler) This is definitely the "most comfortable" museum I’ve ever visited! No stiffness of traditional exhibition halls—you can sit down most of the time, even lie down to learn about Route 66’s history. The museum recreates a vintage drive-in theater scene; I curled up in the leather seat of a classic car and watched road stories on the projector, as if traveling back to the golden age of Route 66 šŸŽ¬. There’s also a lovely gift shop inside, and the staff proactively recommends meaningful souvenirs—top-tier experience! šŸ“ Stop 3: Gas station (Vintage Gas Station) A simple but atmospheric photo spot! The old gas station with red and white colors looks great on camera. Though there aren’t many exhibits, standing by the road and looking at the "Route 66" sign, you can almost imagine the bustling scene of cars passing by back in the day. Every random shot turns into a retro-style blockbuster šŸ“ø. šŸ“ Stop 4: Museum of Pioneer History This museum focuses on local history, displaying daily utensils, old photos, and farming tools of early pioneers—from wooden plows to vintage sewing machines. Each exhibit tells the story of Oklahoma’s development. It’s perfect for history lovers to gain a deeper understanding of this land’s past šŸ› ļø. šŸ“ Stop 5: Arcadia Round Barn A round barn with a distinctive appearance—white wooden structure paired with a green roof, which looks amazing in photos. However, the atmosphere inside is relatively quiet; it’s more like a small exhibition hall hidden in a barn with not too many exhibits. It’s suitable for a short stop when passing by, and the highlight is still taking photos of the barn’s unique shape 🌾. šŸ“ Stop 6: Pops 66 (Internet-Famous Beverage Landmark) The best stop of the day! Highly recommended! It looks like a gas station from the outside, but hides a "beverage paradise"—a huge colorful soda bottle landmark stands at the entrance, which even lights up at night. You can see it from far away, so it’s super recognizable ✨. Stepping inside is even more shocking: the shelves are filled with drinks from all over the world, from classic sodas to niche specialty drinks—so many options that it’s hard to choose. There’s also a restaurant and gift shop here. The hamburger I ordered was delicious, and the Route 66 merchandise in the gift area is also worth buying. It’s perfect for eating, drinking, and shopping! Today’s 6-stop check-in in Oklahoma came to a successful end. Next stop: Oklahoma City!
