Saki Sushi Bar – A Malaysian-Chinese Owned Japanese Gem in Oklahoma!

Our dinner in Oklahoma City was at this cozy sushi spot – Saki Sushi Bar. As soon as we walked in, we heard Mandarin being spoken 😲, and initially thought it was another case of Chinese immigrants running a Japanese restaurant in the U.S. But after chatting with the owner, we discovered the delightful truth: he’s actually a Malaysian Chinese from Fujian ancestry! 🏮 The owner is super friendly and energetic 🎉 – fluent in both Hokkien and Mandarin – and loves chatting with customers. His girlfriend is from Inner Mongolia, China ❤️. The restaurant was already buzzing with customers even before 5 PM (way before peak dinner time!) – definitely a popular spot! The food was delicious 🍱 – fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. The owner was genuinely kind and even advised us not to order too much so we wouldn’t waste food 🙌.
