Saki Sushi Bar
or dinner in Oklahoma, we went to this sushi restaurant. As soon as I walked in, I heard people speaking Chinese. Right then, I thought: Just like what I’ve encountered before—Chinese people opening a Japanese restaurant in the US! But after sitting down and chatting, I found out it’s actually Malaysians who opened this Japanese restaurant here 😂 The owner is a Malaysian Chinese with ancestral roots in Fujian. He speaks both Minnan dialect and Mandarin really well—super lively and loves chatting with customers 🗣️. His girlfriend is Chinese, from Inner Mongolia. The restaurant seemed to be doing great business too; we got there a little before 5 PM for dinner (not exactly peak dining time), but there were already quite a few patrons 🍽️. The food was fantastic, with amazing flavors 👍. What’s more, the owner even tried his best to persuade us not to order too much, saying two people wouldn’t finish it all—such a thoughtful guy 😊. The meal cost $144, and we left a $28 tip, making the total $172. #InternationalStudentLife #RestaurantShare #Foodie
