🌿 SIFR – New Mediterranean Restaurant in Chicago’s River North
A recent addition to River North’s dining scene, SIFR offers Mediterranean flavors in a sleek setting. Food Taste: 🌟🌟🌟 Generally decent, but nothing particularly standout. 1️⃣ Charred Heirloom Tomatoes – Beautifully plated starter, taste was fine. 2️⃣ Tunisian Eggplant – My personal favorite! With pine nuts and tomato purée, it was rich and layered. We ended up ordering extra pita bread to go with it 😋. 3️⃣ Lamb Shank – A bit disappointing. Tender but bland — for a cuisine known for spices, the lamb lacked depth. The seasoned rice was better than the meat. 4️⃣ Lamb Kebab – The star of the night! Well-seasoned minced lamb, grilled over open flame — flavorful and not dry at all. Overall Experience: Just okay. Even on a Thursday night with about 70% occupancy, the main courses arrived slowly and were lukewarm by the time they reached our table. 📍 SIFR 660 N Orleans St, Chicago, IL 60654 📞 Reservations accepted For Mediterranean in River North, I’d still lean toward Avli or Ema 🥹. #ChicagoLife #ChicagoEats #MediterraneanFood #SIFRChicago #RiverNorth #DiningReview 🥘🍅
