Smyth — Chicago’s Three-Michelin-Star Gem
Rating: 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (If money were no object, I’d return in a heartbeat — every dish impressed, desserts included!) This visit was from my July 2023 archive 🗂️. Back then, it was $345 per person for the chef’s table (which was honestly just seating near the kitchen — not the intimate omakase-style counter experience, and a bit noisy 👨🍳🔊). With an 18% service fee, the total for two came to $925. At the time, Smyth held two stars ⭐⭐ — but in 2024, it earned its third star ⭐⭐⭐, and deservedly so! The meal was truly exceptional. Every course was creative, thoughtfully crafted, and genuinely delicious. While Alinea dazzles with service and spectacle, Smyth earns its stars through flavor alone 🍽️✨. Portions were generous — we left stuffed 😅. Even the desserts were spot-on: beautiful, balanced, and not overly sweet. Bottom line: It’s delicious — just go! And reservations aren’t too hard to snag 📅. Restaurant: Smyth Address: 177 N Ada St #101, Chicago, IL 60607 #RestaurantReview #ChicagoFood #MichelinStar #ChicagoEats #ThreeMichelinStars
