Spain | Jerez – 3 Days of Chilling & Sipping Sherry
After a packed itinerary, we settled in Jerez for 3 lazy days—doing nothing but eating, drinking, and soaking in the slow life. 🛌✨ Planning Your Trip The Jerez Tourism Board’s official PDF is a goldmine—listing wineries, flamenco spots, tapas bars, and more. Highly recommend checking it out before your trip! This post focuses on food & drinks, though. 🍽️🍷 Food 🥘 Only booked two proper meals: A Mar 🦐 – Amazing seafood + an extensive sherry-by-the-glass menu Albala 🍷 – A bit further from the main square, cozy vibe (Both are Michelin-recommended, affordable, and delicious!) The rest of the time? Tapas bars (most open after noon, some with long queues ) or Carrefour in town (quiet, great for groceries to cook at home—hello, Chinese cravings! 🥢). Sherry Wineries Booked tours at two big-name bodegas: Lustau – Super detailed, great for sherry nerds Tio Pepe (Gonzalez Byass) – More tourist-friendly (think: cute trains, the legendary "sherry-drinking mice" story, and a stunning domed tasting room!) Reserve online—different tasting flights at different prices. More thoughts on each sherry in a separate post! 📝 Vibes of Jerez 🎶 By day, peaceful & empty streets; by afternoon, lively tapas queues; by night, buzzing till midnight. Perfect mix! 💃 Bonus: Saw weddings at the cathedral—so joyful! Made me think… maybe living here wouldn’t be so bad? 😍 PS: On our last night, my wife got bitten by a dog (leashed, but still… 😳). After 10 years of dog ownership, first bite! Luckily, minor—and the owner was super responsible, driving us to the hospital at 10 PM on a weekend for shots. Faith in humanity restored! ❤️ #Jerez #SherryWine #SlowTravel #LifeOnTheRoad
