Spice Bomb! 🌶️ Bold & Savory Thai Food in Chicago 📍 Tuk Tuk

Tuk Tuk specializes in cuisine from Thailand’s Isan region—known for being extra salty, extra spicy, and packed with flavor‼️ As someone who lives for spice, I found level 3–4 heat here just right… and yes, it’s salty (in the best way possible!). The taste is complex and intense—trust me, all my bold-flavor foodies, you have to try this place at least once! 🔥 Must-order: Ka Prow Moo Krob Crispy fried pork belly chunks coated in a rich, basil-heavy sauce. Eating the pork alone might be a bit salty, but mix in a runny egg with rice, and it’s pure perfection—savory, fragrant, and perfectly balanced! My partner and I were literally fighting over the last pieces 😂 (portions here aren’t huge, so order wisely!). 🥗 Second must-try: Tum Tuk Tuk Salad (the restaurant’s namesake!) We ordered it without really knowing what was in it… and wow, what a surprise! It comes with raw crab legs, egg yolk, dried fish, sour plum, rice noodles, and other unexpected ingredients 🤯. The flavor is wild—an intense mix of sour, sweet, bitter, spicy, and umami. By the end, my taste buds were in overdrive! We ended up adding extra rice noodles to mellow it out—weirdly addictive once you get used to it. Definitely an experience worth trying if you’ve never had it! 🍜 Their Pad Thai is also way above average—delicious, though not particularly unique. 🥘 Tom Yum Soup – Not my top pick here. I felt it was overly sour, overshadowing other flavors. 🍨 Desserts are decent—nothing mind-blowing, but worth a try if you have room! 📍 Tuk Tuk Thai Isan Street Food 2852 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60657 #ThaiFood #IsanCuisine #ChicagoEats #FoodieAdventure #SpicyFood #BoldFlavors #ChicagoFood
