Stressed Out? Chicago’s Free Scream Club Might Be Exactly What You Need This Weekend

There are a few places where one can truly scream . Because sometimes, we need to release our built-up emotions, but living in a city with over 2 million people makes public screaming generally frowned upon. However, this new club in Chicago has discovered an unconventional way to let loose in public. Scream Club Chicago is a new event that convenes every Sunday at 7 p.m. on the North Avenue Beach pier. Participants breathe deeply and then collectively scream into the air over Lake Michigan. According to CBS News, “the group was started by Manny Hernande, a breathwork coach who was looking for an outlet to deal with stress.” He invited others to join him in the screaming ritual on social media, and now the weekly therapy sessions are growing in popularity. The best part? It’s completely free. With the club garnering attention online, more people are expected to attend this Sunday.
