๐ŸŒŸ Study Abroad Diary โ€”โ€” Dallas Travel Guide: Food and Drink Edition

๐Ÿ“ Maht Gaek ๐Ÿ†My friend had been craving for the famous Korean soy sauce crab ever since she came to the US. We specifically went to Maht Gaek in Dallas for it, only to be told that it had sold out three days earlier. We ended up dining here twice. The first time, we had the pork rib hot pot. It was just the right amount for two people. The ribs were generous in quantity, but aside from the ribs, there were only potatoes and onions in the pot. However, the complimentary side dishes and dipping sauces really enhanced the overall taste. The second time, we tried the seafood tofu soup and grilled pork spine. Their menu is a bit limited. The seafood tofu soup had only a small amount of seafood and a lot of tofu. The grilled pork spine was sweet and sour, and the portion was quite large. We couldn't finish more than half. Comparatively, I still prefer the pork rib hot pot. ๐Ÿ“ Shi Miao Dao Guo Qiao Mi Xian (Ten Seconds to Cross the Bridge Rice Noodles) ๐Ÿ™…This place offers a wide variety of bridge-crossing rice noodles. The service was also very good. I finally settled on the collagen chicken rice noodles. If you love collagen chicken soup, don't miss it. The soup is incredibly flavorful, and I really enjoyed it. I also wanted to try the Sichuan peppercorn rice noodles but had to choose just one. My friend ordered the thick tomato rice noodles. This is the traditional style of bridge-crossing rice noodles, with a boiling hot soup base that you have to pour the noodles and various ingredients into to cook. However, we both agreed that the tomato soup base was too sour. If you're not a fan of sour flavors, I wouldn't recommend it. ๐Ÿ“ No.1 BBQ ๐Ÿ‘‹Barbecue is definitely one of my all-time favorites, and coming to Dallas, I had to have some. After researching many options, I finally chose No.1 BBQ. Their shop isn't very large, but the food is quite good. We ordered lamb skewers, heart tubes, Orleans chicken wings, chicken claws, squid tentacles, pig's trotters, sweet potato chips, honey bread slices, and scallops. I particularly liked the grilled chicken wings, chicken claws, and scallops. Their chicken wings have a thin layer of sugar on the surface, combined with the spiciness of the Orleans secret sauce, which is very fragrant. I personally prefer sweeter grilled chicken wings. #Dallas #DallasFood #Travel
