Testaccio — A Logan Square Italian Neighborhood Gem 🏡

I’ve written before about Osteria Langhe’s white truffle dinner — Testaccio is another spot from the same team. Still Italian, but cozier and more home-style. 🦑 Fried calamari — a classic starter, though the batter was a bit thick here. 🧀 Arancini — crispy outside, oozing with melted cheese inside — comforting and savory. 🐖 Porchetta (crispy pork belly with loin) in a sweet-sour glaze, topped with apple slaw and arugula — different from Kasama’s pork belly adobo but equally satisfying. 🍝 Mezze maniche al sugo di Manson — braised oxtail pasta in a rich tomato sauce. Tender, flavorful, though a touch salty toward the end. Tucked into a residential part of Logan Square, Testaccio feels like a warm, neighborhood trattoria. Nothing mind-blowing, but everything feels heartfelt and comforting. The space is bright and modern — I even saw a small wedding happening there! Adorable.
