Excellent museum if you are a fan! I really enjoyed that you can feel Selenas presence in the building as it also a recording studio/office for the Quintanilla family. The moment I arrived I was very excited to walk in the door and look at all the exhibits. As I walk in the door I payed my $5 to the clerk and I was immediately ushered into another room as a tour had just started. I walked down a hallway and what it looked like an old building with the recording studio and the other side a big room with the recording set used by Selena. Also, this room is featured in the "Selena" movie where J.Lo is singing/recording the English track ( I didn't know Hollywood came all the was to Chorpus to film in the studio) that was pretty awesome to know! Then, after you hang out in the room for a little bit you are then escorted to the actual museum where all the dresses (purple jumpsuit, Grammys silver dress, etc.), outfits, awards, vehicle, pictures, videos, letters and other beautiful memorabilia is displayed. Again, if you are a fan you will enjoy it and relive her music and memory through this experience. I spent a solid hour just walking around 2-3 times as it is a small space just taking it all in. It's definitely a must see if are visiting Texas. Also, check out the Selena bronze statue in downtown, it's only a 15 minute drive from the studio. The only thing I didn't like is that most of Selena's wardrobe isn't on display and also the gift shop is a little underwhelming. I was expecting a lot of more souvenirs and clothing items that were Selena inspired and not just a regular T-shirt with a picture of her on it. Other than that,...
Read moreModest museum. It really reminded me of Motown. Donât expect a huge multi-million dollar complex, but expect to see Selena from her familyâs perspective. Very affordable and reasonably priced tickets. When you first walk in, you are greeted by the purple luxurious carpet and all the warm pictures of her and her family. I liked the fact that they seemed to celebrate her life as a person first and then entertainer. Pictures of her as a everyday normal young woman. The building is a studio, first floorâSelenaâsâ and the top floor is a currently used studio.
Selenaâs studio is pretty big. They said everything in it in just the same as it was when she was alive. And parts of the movie was filmed in the studio. My only wish, is that our guide was actually a tour guide. She basically just walked us in the recording room, let us look around and that was it. My wife is from VA, she donât know nothing about Selena. And didnât learn anything about her today besides the fact that she was murdered. Wikipedia and the internet was a better guide.
I enjoyed how they had her professional stuff in the back room but also added âEgg Collectionâ. If my sister wasnât there with me, I wouldnât have known why she had and collected them.(See what I mean). I hear the family comes by everyday, you can tell they really care because it seems to be family operated, but professionally decorated and manicured. Not a spec, fingerprint, gum wrapper, NOTHING, on the floors or glass.

Read moreIf youâre a Selena fan, the Selena Museum in Corpus Christi is an absolute must! Even if you just love music history, itâs worth every penny and the entrance fee is only $5 per person for an experience you wonât forget. Walking into Q-Productions, where Selena recorded so many of her hits, gives you instant chills. I even got to stand in the exact spot where she once sang, and also where JLo stood and wow, I felt like a part of her story.
The highlight of my visit? Meeting her nephew! That made everything feel so personal and real. Everywhere you look, thereâs something amazing: her sparkling stage outfits (yes, the purple jumpsuit!), Grammy awards, red Porsche, gold and platinum records, FabergĂŠ egg collection, MAC make-up endorsement and walls covered with fan art and rare photos. Seeing all her achievements and knowing she passed away so young really tugs at your heart. You can feel how the whole world mourned her via letters and messages from fans everywhere show just how deeply loved she was.
The museum is small, but thatâs what makes it feel intimate and authentic. Walking through feels like stepping into the Quintanilla familyâs memories. You leave inspired, emotional, and humming âbidi bidi bom bom,â celebrating the life and legacy of the Queen of...
