The Cubs and Wrigley Field Are Hosting the 2027 MLB All-Star Game

It looks like Chicago will be hosting an all-star [weekend](https://secretchicago.com/chicago-weekend-plans/) soon, as the Major League Baseball All-Star Game is set to return to Wrigley Field for the first time since 1990. According to a report from Bruce Levine of 670 The Score, an official announcement on the matter will be made later this summer. MLB All-Star Game concerns -------------------------- Security concerns had previously been the main reason for the long absence of All-Star Games at Wrigley Field, with league officials concerned that the park could be the target of a coordinated attack. However, these concerns were eased through collaboration between the Chicago Cubs and the city of Chicago; concrete bollards will be installed outside the stadium. The upcoming All-Star Game will not only mark Wrigley Field’s first All-Star Game in 37 years , but it will also mark the first Midsummer Classic in Chicago in 24 years. The last one was held in 2003 at what was then U.S. Cellular Field, home of the Chicago White Sox . This year, the 2025 MLB All-Star Game is scheduled to take place at Truist Park in Cumberland, Georgia, home of the Atlanta Braves.
