The Loyalist — Michelin-Level Brunch in Chicago 🥞
Among Chicago’s Michelin-starred spots, only North Pond has consistently served breakfast — until now. The Loyalist recently launched brunch, and while the restaurant itself isn’t starred, with Smyth upstairs as its sibling, the quality is absolutely Michelin-caliber. 🐟 Anchovy toast — crispy milk bread with marinated anchovies, onion, and yuzu butter. Would’ve been even better if the anchovies were a touch less salty.💕😘 🐟 Deviled egg éclair — highly recommend! Topped with grated deviled egg yolk and mimolette cheese — flaky, savory, and decadent (though a bit messy to eat!). 🐟 Whole Maine lobster with Cognac sauce — tender, sweet, and already cut into shareable pieces.🙌❤️ 🐟 Their signature omelette — impossibly silky outside with a soft, runny center. A bit on the salty side (maybe from the cheese) — I gave feedback, so hopefully they’ll adjust. 🐟 Dessert: canelé served soft in a pool of crème anglaise — warm, eggy, and utterly comforting. The menu also features their legendary cheeseburger (just as good as Au Cheval’s) and plenty more I’m saving for next time. Prices are higher than your average brunch — but you’re paying for next-level execution and ingredients.
