The Metra Holiday Train is Back Next Month—Here’a a Look at the Schedule

**Metra’s holiday train is back this December,** bringing holiday lights and cheer to some of the transit system’s busiest lines. Here’s a look at **this year’s schedule** and **all the holiday fun in store.** 2025 holiday train schedule --------------------------- The holiday train will return to the **following train lines on the corresponding dates,** according to Metra. * **Dec. 6:** Milwaukee District West and BNSF lines * **Dec. 13:** Metra Electric, Rock Island, and UP Northwest lines * **Dec. 20:** Metra Electric Line Various **downtown train stations will be decked out in holiday decorations** throughout the month, and the holiday trains will also make the rounds in regular service outside of scheduled dates. Tickets for the holiday train ride on the Metra Electric line on December 20 include an **invite to a family-friendly holiday celebration at Millennium Station.** Guests will enjoy **treats, holiday music, games, face painting,** and other fun activities. “Our **Holiday Trains have become an annual tradition for our riders and their families,** and we are happy to be operating them again,” said Metra CEO/Executive Director Jim Derwinski. “It’s **our way to spread a little holiday joy and thank our riders** for making Metra part of their lives all year.” Tickets ------- Passes for the holiday trains **go on sale on Wednesday, November 17 at noon.** Tickets are **$10 each** and must be purchased in advance.
