The Only Place In North America To See This Viral Pokémon Exhibition Is Coming To Chicago This Spring

A childhood obsession meets serious science at an upcoming exhibition at Chicago’s Field Museum! This spring, the Pokémon Fossil Museum will make its North American debut . The exhibition offers an immersive experience connecting fossil-inspired Pokémon with the real prehistoric creatures that inspired them. Opening on May 22, 2026, the exhibition invites visitors to compare popular Pokémon , such as Tyrantrum and Archeops, with actual fossils from the Field Museum. Attendees will be guided by “Professor Fossil,” “Excavator Pikachu,” and Field Museum scientists . Originally launched in Japan, this exhibition was created in collaboration with the National Museum of Nature and Science in Tokyo and The Pokémon Company. Chicago will be its first international stop and the only location in North America where fans can experience it until April 11, 2027.
