The Perfect Chicago Restaurant for Holidays

Okay, it’s a bit funny — we couldn’t get into the famous Ciccio Mio or that top steakhouse next door, so we ended up here instead! (If anyone knows how to actually snag a reservation at Ciccio Mio, please tell me your secrets 😅) Even though it wasn’t our first choice, this spot has a 4.6 Google rating — and the food truly delivers! We visited during Christmas, and the holiday decor was gorgeous — super photogenic! What We Ordered 🤤🤤🤤 📌 Double Cut Coal Fired Ribeye – Cooked medium, incredibly tender and buttery. A bit salty, but delicious. 📌 HH Mussels – Highly recommend! Plump, fresh mussels in an incredibly flavorful broth. Dipping the garlic bread in it was heavenly. 📌 Truffle Bucatini – Rich truffle aroma with al dente pasta coated in sauce — so good! (Also on the salty side though.) 📌 HH Bone Marrow – Super rich and oily — perfect for fat lovers! Spread on toast with sweet pickled garnish — intensely satisfying. 📌 Chocolate Cake – Huge slice and VERY sweet — even for someone with a sweet tooth! Classic American-level sweetness 🍫😅 Key Details 🖍🖋🖌 📍 Restaurant: Gilt Bar 📍 Address: 230 W Kinzie St, Chicago, IL 60654, United States 📍 Price per person: $70–80 We went during Happy Hour, so the mussels and bone marrow were half price — much better value! Portions aren’t huge, and some dishes run salty, but the ambiance is beautiful and the overall experience was lovely. What other great new restaurants in Chicago should I try?
