The Study — A Disappointing “Group Study” 🍽️😕

I previously enjoyed breakfast and happy hour at Heritage Restaurant & Caviar Bar, so I was eager to try their omakase-style dinner, The Study. It used to require 4–6 people, but recently opened for two — so my foodie friend and I went. ✅ Pros: ▪️ Located in the basement, separate from the main dining area — quiet and private (only one seating per night). ▪️ Chef prepares dishes in front of you, and a dedicated bartender crafts custom alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks. ▪️ As a seafood-focused spot, there were standouts like baby eel (never seen in Chicago before) and uni egg tart with caviar. ▪️ They offer rare albino sturgeon caviar not included in the set).😂😍 ❌ Cons were hard to ignore: ▪️ Poor ventilation — smoke filled the basement after a few cooked courses.😁💕 ▪️ Overly salty — even for my salt-tolerant palate. ▪️ Overcooking — dishes like monkfish (lost their delicate texture, and fried squid was tough and chewy. Overall, I’d recommend sticking to their breakfast and happy hour. The dinner experience fell short.
