These Chicago Universities Are Among the Best in the World According to a New Ranking

Thinking of going back to school some time in the near future? You can go to one of the best schools in the world without ever leaving Chicago, according to a new ranking! TIME has released its 2026 roundup of “World’s Top Universities” and four Chicago universities made the 500-entry list —with one school making the top 5! Here’s all the details. UChicago cracks TIME Top 5 Universities --------------------------------------- The University of Chicago ranked highest of any Chicago school, claiming the number 5 spot on the list, right behind the likes of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Yale. Northwestern University followed behind at number 85, while UIC ranked number 151 and the Illinois Institute of Technology ranked number 266. Several other Illinois universities also made the list.
