Third Visit to Houston | Food Recap 🦞🥩

Houston Food Recap: My 3rd Consecutive Year on a Business Trip 🥘 Having traveled to Houston for work three years in a row, I’m more convinced than ever it’s one of the happiest cities I’ve visited in the US—I sleep so soundly here.🎃🎃 There are countless reasons I love it, and food, food, food is non-negotiable! 🎈Here’s a roundup of my food finds (some I discovered myself, others recommended by locals). For addresses and photos, please search on Google Maps or Yelp. 🍖 Texas Barbecue 1. Goodies – Recommended by my local Texas client. The decor is full of Texas charm. My favorites are the moist brisket, jalapeño sausage, and banana pudding. 2. Rudy‘s – Perfectly seasoned, it’s my current favorite! I recommend the moist brisket and corn. Fun fact: When we visited NASA, we saw that the ranch there partners with Rudy‘s.✨✨ 3. Spring Creek – Haven’t had a chance to try this yet, but it was highly recommended by a local Uber driver who’s lived in Houston for 45 years (we met on the way to the airport). 🥩 Steakhouses 1. Texas Roadhouse – Worth a visit even just for their amazing complimentary pre-meal bread. The steak was a bit overcooked (so just so-so), but luckily a colleague suggested getting it medium-rare—and that’s when I fell in love with its tender, juicy texture. 2. Taste of Texas – An upscale steakhouse with classic Texas-style decor. The food is delicious and authentic, though prices are on the higher side. Every guest gets a small cowboy bandana as a gift, and the staff will even take your photo, print it, and put it in a greeting card for you. 🦞 Crawfish 1. Crabfish Cafe – Locals say crawfish is at its best in Houston from January to June. Supposedly, Houston and Louisiana are the only places in the US where crawfish is cooked fresh (not frozen). ❣️❣️ 👀The three of us ate 5 pounds and still wanted more—we all agreed that after 30 years of life, we finally understood why crawfish is so popular! We finished eating around 10 PM and were still raving about it until 12:30 AM. We ordered garlic butter and Cajun flavors; the spice level was just right for us spice lovers.❤️ 🌮 Mexican Food🍡🍢 1. Escalante‘s – The ambiance feels truly authentic to Mexico, and the food is great too. The restaurant is spacious and always busy.🍰 I was introduced to a must-try: fresh fruit dipped in Mexican chili powder! The homemade tortilla chips are super crispy—way better than store-bought ones.🍎🍎 🤠 Others - Chinese Food: Highly recommend Little Bear Sichuan Cuisine, Bamboo Garden, and the noodles at Noodle Master.🌻 🙊🙊- Brunch: Postino Town & Country offers great value and a nice atmosphere. I tried a light beer made in Texas—it was incredibly fragrant! Their Bruschetta Board is unique; I especially recommend the fig and apple one: whole-grain toast topped with fig jam and fresh green apple—so deliciously unexpected.🍐🎼 - Thai Food: Don’t miss Zaab Der! It’s super budget-friendly, and they serve the best Tom Yum Soup I’ve had in the US. Their Green Papaya Salad is also tasty. 🌹 Most dishes on the front of the menu are great, but the main courses on the back are a bit too sweet.💓💓 #HoustonFood
