Stars supporting local Black-owned business ------------------------------------------- While in town for the 2023 show, the rap icon stopped by Bronzeville Soul, a Black-owned South Side favorite known for its traditional Southern comfort food —think fried catfish, mac and cheese, cornbread, and more. Owner Mario Coleman told ABC that Jay-Z placed a hefty to-go order, opting for short ribs and pound cake. The rapper even mentioned the restaurant had come highly recommended. Following his visit, Bronzeville Soul saw a surge of attention from both locals and visitors alike. With Beyoncé’s recent return to Chicago for the Cowboy Carter Tour, the spotlight has returned to this beloved neighborhood staple once again.
