This L.A. PR Coalition Is Giving Free Support To Fire-Impacted Businesses — From Petting Farms To Pizzerias
This week marks one year since the Palisades and Eaton fires in the city, and while the headlines have moved on, many small businesses are still in recovery. Among those stepping in to help is the LA Strong Comms Coalition, a volunteer initiative providing free PR services to businesses impacted by the fires. Started by Jennifer Acree, a PR strategist who lost her home in the Palisades Fire, the initiative brought together over 40 PR professionals from small and large agencies with a clear goal: to help local businesses share their stories, attract customers, and rebuild, without waiting for the media to remember them. So far, LA Strong Comms has worked with eight businesses, including Flour Pizzeria, which reopened a Brentwood location with a Valentine’s Day event giving free pizzas to fire victims and first responders, and Bonjour Fête, a party supply store that got branding support just when the owner was juggling insurance claims and recovery logistics. Other clients include a mobile petting farm, a mobile florist, gyms offering free classes to evacuees, and a boutique bartending company that lost all its equipment. The coalition is looking for more small businesses in Altadena and across L.A. that could use PR support. Any business can sign up via the coalition’s pro bono help [using this form,](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdFXHfSxlwT91mgregzNALnD-EAnRzevWi1aiLWjAyO56_u0A/viewform) and benefit from storytelling to media pitching.
