This noodle shop in Chicago I only recommend to close friends! 🤫

Honestly, I’m really afraid this place will blow up and become even harder to get into 🥲 A noodle spot worth waking up early for—already visited twice this month! ⏰ Make sure to arrive right when they open on weekends, otherwise be prepared to wait an hour or more! The restaurant is decorated with lots of old photos of the owner, which makes me a bit homesick, but it’s so warm and cozy 💕 The menu is simple: mainly wontons, mixed noodles, soup noodles, cold dishes, and—surprisingly—soy pudding! 🍜 Beef Soup Noodles: Different from the usual braised beef noodles, theirs is super fragrant, probably because of the generous red oil (but not spicy at all). Thick slices of beef soak in the steaming hot soup—so satisfying in winter! 😌 🍝 Beef Sauce Noodles: I order this mixed noodles every time! Thick meat sauce coats every strand, topped with pickled snow cabbage and soybeans. Even with a small appetite, I finished a whole big bowl 😋 🥗 Cold Dish – Must-try Eggplant Salad!: The first time I tried it, I was amazed—how can eggplant be so delicious?! Why does it taste like meat?! (A life-changing cold dish for cilantro lovers LOL 😂) 🍗 Cold Chicken Appetizer: Super tender, like a version of mouthwatering chicken! 🫓 Red Bean Pastry: Each one is baked fresh (so it takes a little while), and it comes out piping hot. But if you break it open while it’s warm, take a bite, and pair it with the savory soup… instant heaven ✨ 🧋 Handmade Milk Tea: Very authentic, homemade-style milk tea, served with herbal jelly—totally worth trying! 🍴: Lao Peng You 📍: 2020 W Chicago Ave, Chicago, IL 60622 #DeliciousNoodles #ChineseFoodLover #NoodleHeaven #ChicagoLife #ChicagoFoodExplorer
