Travel Guide | Chicago — We’ll Meet Again! 🍿

The most iconic and truly “Chicago” views are from the Trump Hotel and Terrace 16 — absolutely unmatched. On a sunny day, the photos come out perfectly with no filter needed 💙. Their brunch was also better than expected! The Bean reopened after summer maintenance, and even in the rain, I couldn’t resist taking a detour for one more shot 📸 (even though I’ve taken so many back in my student days). This trip was perfectly planned between my J and P friends — here are our restaurant highlights 👇🏻: 🍝 Italian: ALLA VITA Must-order the Table Bread — seriously delicious! For pasta, the Tagliatelle was cooked perfectly al dente. ⚠️ The sea bream was the only letdown — my friend insisted we try it based on reviews, so we skipped pizza… and it was overcooked 😅. 🇹🇭 Thai: Eat Fine Design By Khun Kung Highlights: Durian Curry, Pad Thai, and Coconut Ice Cream 🍛🍨. The beef hotpot was just okay. Food is great, but service is slow — make a reservation ahead! 🍞 Bakery: Kasama Ordered for pickup at 9 AM sharp and was already #71 in line — the queue was still long when I arrived! Highly recommend the Foie Gras and Ham & Cheese Danish 🥐 (salmon one was just fine). The sweet-savory combo with flaky pastry explains the hype! 🥧 Dim Sum: MingHin Cuisine, Chinatown Tastes just like I remember — though some say quality dipped after they expanded. A whole table of dishes cost around $80! My favorite Salted Egg Yolk Buns were served lukewarm this time, unlike the piping-hot perfection of the past 🥠. 🦞 Cantonese: Furama Restaurant The undisputed king of Cantonese food (maybe even Chinese food) in Chicago — holds so many student-era memories with friends. The owners are still lovely and kind! Must-tries: Stewed Beef Brisket, Steamed Egg with Minced Pork, Peking Spareribs, Mussels with Garlic & Vermicelli… I only wish I had more stomach space 😋. 🧋 Living Water Tea House Went twice in three days — their Pu’er Milk Tea is super rich, but the pearls were disappointing. 🧋 Uni Uni Bubble Tea Tried five drinks — highly recommend the Oolong Milk Tea and their Grilled Sausage. My friend loved their soy milk line! A few regrets: Ciccio Mio (Italian) — couldn’t fit it into our schedule. Omakase — nothing in Chicago really caught my eye, and we had several lined up later in our trip. Dan the Baker Chicago — wanted to try the canelés, but they sold out online by Monday 😢. I love Chicago’s clean streets and blue skies… though the taxes are high and safety isn’t perfect. Till next time, Chicago 🩷🏙️ #ChicagoTravel #ChicagoFoodGuide #ChicagoEats #TravelDiaries #FoodieMemories #CityViews
