Travel guide in Sri lanka day8:FromMirissa to Galle
🌊Whale and Dolphin Watching in Mirissa From November to March each year, migratory whales can be found off the western and southern coasts of Sri Lanka, making it the best whale-watching season on the south coast. The boat for whale watching departs around 7 AM, so it's recommended to arrive early to get a good seat. It's advised to take motion sickness medicine in advance, as 90% of people are likely to experience seasickness. Hold on tight while on the boat due to large waves, and make sure to wear sunscreen and bring a telephoto lens. I didn't go, but my companions were unfortunately unable to see any whales, though they did spot a pod of dolphins. 🍽️Bay Chinese Restaurant This might have been the most delicious meal we had in Sri Lanka. We weren't very hungry, so we only ordered spicy beef, shredded potatoes, pineapple fried rice, and century egg vegetable soup. Each dish was excellent, with just the right amount of saltiness. 🎣Stilt Fishing A traditional local fishing method and a cultural attraction, known as one of the world's most unique ways of fishing. Fishermen sit on tall bamboo poles, which is quite an extraordinary experience. It's recommended to wear flip-flops and clothing that's not easily torn, and to choose the first bamboo pole for the best experience. For the photo-taking experience, the two of us paid a total of 2000 rupees. 🐢Dalawella Turtle Feeding I didn't get off the vehicle as I wasn't very interested, but my companions had a great time and enjoyed close interaction with the turtles and feeding them. 🏰Galle Fort Galle Fort is one of Sri Lanka's World Heritage Sites and my favorite place on the entire trip. You can shop for exquisite Sri Lankan handicrafts or clothing, stroll on the ancient walls, watch the sunrise and sunset over the Indian Ocean, or stop by the 82 Café for a rest and try the jackfruit-flavored ice cream. The owner is a very charming Sri Lankan elderly lady. If you have enough time, you can also try the afternoon tea at Aman, which is said to cost around 100 per person, and both the service and food are highly recommended. #Dalawella Beach#Galle Dutch Fort#Mirissa Beach#Galle#Mirissa#Sri lanka#trip diary#WhaleWatching#Stilt Fishing#Dalawella Turtle Feeding#Bay Chinese Restaurant
