Trying Out Chicago's New Korean Spot — Mister Tiger 🐯

Came across this Korean restaurant with great ratings — Google review 4.9/5 ⭐ Only 7 minutes away, so I went for it! But… the atmosphere was noisy and dim 😵 — not great for a quiet date or a lively group hangout. Not sure who their target customers are… maybe people craving “authentic” Korean food with deep pockets? 💸 The menu leans traditional, but the servers were young and inexperienced. We ordered three dishes for two people, and were asked three times if we wanted to add fried rice. We didn’t, so we added bibimbap instead… ended up stuffed after the first three dishes, didn’t touch the bibimbap at all 😅 🍸 Cocktail — Simple Gesture Seasonal melon flavor — very sweet and tasty, but didn’t match the restaurant’s vibe or food (:з」∠) 🙃 Main — Galbi Jjim (Braised Short Ribs) Not as good as homemade beef stew 🥩. They said it’s braised for 6 hours, but it was still chewy and not fall-apart tender. The seasoning was odd — like eating boneless bulgogi with bones 🙃 🐔 Korean Fried Chicken Batter was too thick 😵‍💫 Chicken wasn’t as good as BBQ Chicken’s. The soy garlic sauce was okay, but the pickled radish on the side was amazing — wish I could order that separately! 🫓 Chive Pancake Actually pretty good! Crispy on the outside with lots of chives and minimal batter. 🍚 Bibimbap Ate it the next morning — just okay, wouldn’t recommend. 💰 Final bill: ~$65 per person — would rather spend that on a nice KBBQ meal 🫠 My rating? 4.9 out of 10 😅 #ChicagoEats #KoreanFood #ChicagoKorean #MisterTiger #FoodReview #NotWorthIt #Overpriced
